Saunders Roe looking to Llanfairfechan

During the Second World War Saunders Roe relocated from the Isle of Wight to a site near Beaumaris, Anglesey. Flying boats were brought here from America and Canada and modified to conform with RAF requirements. Today the derelict buildings still stand overlooking the Menai Straits.

Interesting, yet another place I probably walked near to but never knew about until your post.

I imagine you walked over the concrete slipway that the flying boats (and MTBs) were launched from as it is on the Anglesey Coastal Path. The factory itself is now partly obscured by trees from the beach. Posted a couple more photos on Twitter and will post the rest of them either here or on FB.
